Families in the Wild

Let’s go on a hike,

make a bonfire at the beach

or have a picnic with a pretty view

Every month I choose a favorite location of mine in the Bay Area and offer a photoshoot for families.

It could be going on a hike, making a bon fire at the beach or having a picnic with a pretty view.

I am not going to ask you to look at the camera and smile - but rather I will be here to make sure we all have a good time outside. I will be taking pictures of you in the most candid way

My package includes:

  • 1 hour of shooting time for a family to up to 5 people.

  • 25 photos

  • $675 for new clients

  • $75 OFF for returning clients

  • Add-ons: more time, more photos, shot on film

FAQ

  • When I photograph people my goal is to stay as true to the moment as possible.

Every family is different. So every photo session is a little different. Basically, I try to make things as natural as possible. So for the majority of the shoot I don't offer a lot of direction. If kids want to run, let them run. If they want to explore, let them and let’s follow them!

That being said, I will always try to move everyone towards the best light or the best scenery.

Last but not least : Smile often. It makes everything better.

  • One hour - but I will always keep 15 minutes at the end to make sure I have all the photos I need and wrap up.

  • Ideally wear what you like and, most importantly, what you feel comfortable in. You do not need to dress up - I would rather recommend that you are confortable in your clothes to sit on the ground and get a little dirty. Outdoor sessions are active!

Avoid bright flashy colors and large patterns.

It helps to put the younger children in the brightest color; in group photos, this helps them stand out despite their small size.

I love a beautiful hat - but you need to know that if you wear one, your face will be a big shadow.

  • I do - please email me or call me to talk about your project.

  • Family photography sessions require flexibility. If it’s very hot, very cold, very windy, very rainy or if one of us is feeling unwell, we will reschedule to another date. If however the weather is tolerable and only a little of one of those things, the show will go on!

I can not control the weather but I can guarantee you that we will make memorable and beautiful photos of your family.

  • Yes! as long as pets are allowed where we meet. Also bring some treats!

  • It's great if you can bring along some of your child's favorite toys, games, balls, kites, bubbles – anything that you enjoy doing together as a family.

Snacks are also a good idea to boost your child's energy levels.

Since we are outside I also recommend a blanket to sit on.

  • If 2 families book 2 sessions in a row on the same day both families will get $75 OFF their sessions. If 3 families book on the same day, they will each get $100 OFF.

I also do run discounts every once in a while. You can subscribe to my newsletter at the bottom of this page to find out more about those.

  • Think of this session as one hour you get to spend having fun family time.

I love it when parents bring out their inner silly to help their children smile and laugh.

Avoid the “cheese” word. Saying “cheese” makes an unnatural smile. I want to capture smiles that come from their core and radiate into their eyes.

Remember that our goal is not to capture perfection, but instead, a perfect representation of who your children are at this point in time. I want your photos to help you tell a story to your children years from now.

  • I have a questionnaire that I ask you to fill out which helps me get to know your family better. And I’m always up for calls and emails to discuss locations, activities, and outfits. Just ask.

  • It’s definitely worth being added to my waitlist and/or checking with me to see if I can fit you in at the last minute.

Some sessions are scheduled month in advance, so it’s not unusual for families to have to reschedule due to travel plans, illness or emergency.
